Spring Grove Dairy

BT Squared was hired to prepare a Monitoring and Inspection Program Plan (MIPP) for a 1,900-head dairy farm located in Brodhead, Wisconsin. As a result, the dairy was able to maintain compliance with their WPDES permit, implement an improved recordkeeping process, and create an improved response plan for animal waste and related spills.

Royster-Clark Property

The Royster-Clark property is a large-scale fertilizer plant located in Madison, Wisconsin. Originally, BT Squared was hired to evaluate the property for contamination and the remediation of nitrogen discovered during a plant upgrade. We then completed an extensive Phase 1 and 2 investigation covering the entire property. We were able to assess the situation thoroughly and meet the need with a rapid response, excavation, and remediation of the soil by beneficial reuse without disrupting daily business operations and maintaining the construction schedule. Currently, BT Squared is using our detailed site knowledge to assist the owner with repositioning the property for redevelopment.

Reddy AG Service

BT Squared was hired to design and oversee the construction of a mix / load pad for the Agrichemical Building at Reddy AG’s Stitzer, Wisconsin, facility. As a large-scale co-op, it is critical that the chemicals and pesticides they sell to their clients are stored in a facility that prevents a spill from reaching the soil and groundwater. BT Squared provided one-stop engineering including geotechnical analysis, a grading plan, a stormwater plan and permitting, the design of the pad, and construction oversight. As a result of the project Reddy AG Service implemented a state-of-the-art containment system representing a huge improvement to the existing system.

Grand River Cooperative

Grand River Cooperative hired BT Squared to provide erosion control and stormwater management permitting for an expansion of their Markesan, Wisconsin, facility.  A wetland and floodplain complicated this project. Our stormwater management plan minimized the amount of land disturbance during construction while maneuvering around the wetland and floodplain. The facility was later purchased by Landmark Cooperative.  BT Squared’s rapid response brought the facility into compliance and avoided significant penalties.

Landmark Cooperative

BT Squared was hired to upgrade an existing three-well groundwater extraction system in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, that was not performing well. By determining the extracted groundwater could cost-effectively be treated with granular activated carbon, BT Squared was able to increase the capacity of the groundwater extraction system while eliminating costly trucking of contaminated groundwater to Madison, Wisconsin. BT Squared also worked closely with Landmark, the Town of Cottage Grove, and adjacent landowners to design and construct a groundwater treatment system discharge pipe that also provided improved stormwater management for several adjacent properties.
